NEWPORT BEACH, Ca. – Missouri Linebacker Sean Weatherspoon has been named the Lott Trophy IMPACT Player of the Week.

Weatherspoon, a 6-2, 245-pound senior from Jasper, Texas led the Tigers with 12 tackles in a 36-17 win over Colorado.  Missouri’s defense held the Buffaloes to -14 yards rushing.

Weatherspoon, a Lott Trophy quarter-finalist the past two years,  now has 73 tackles on the season to lead the team and 375 in his career.

Missouri will receive $1,000 for its general scholarship fund in recognition of Weatherspoon’s achievement.
